Spiced Quince Ice Cream

Ingredients
  

  • 250 ml full fat milk
  • 3 star anise
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 250 ml double cream
  • 1 x 385g tin condensed milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 350 g preserved quince slices core removed and roughly chopped

Instructions
 

  • Add the star anise and cinnamon to the milk and heat until just below boiling point.
  • Remove from the heat, cover and let infuse for an hour.
  • Remove the spices from the milk and let the milk cool in the fridge for a few hours.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix the milk, condensed milk, cream, salt and vanilla extract and beat until mixed well.
  • Churn in your ice cream maker as per the manufacturer instructions.
  • Once the mixture has churned, mix in the quince pieces and freeze
