Let’s be honest, the drinks are a big part of the fun of festive entertaining. And for some inspiration, here are my 8 Festive Drinks to Celebrate the Season.
From ice cold and fruity to a dreamy cocktail that’s pretty much a dessert in a glass to a glamorous classic that sets the mood for the any celebration, this round up of festive drinks have you covered. So get ready to mix, shake and stir this festive season with some of my favourite drinks and cocktails.
Frozen Watermelon Lemonade
Starting off zesty, zingy and colourful this is the most refreshing slushy if your festive season falls in the summer hemisphere. The Frozen Watermelon Lemonade is made by blending frozen watermelon chunks with an easy homemade lemon syrup (sugar, water, lemon zest and juice). Top it up with soda water or a bottle of sparkling wine for the most fabulous adult slushy to enjoy next to the pool.
Christmas Milkshake
This Christmas Milkshake is made with cinnamon infused milk that I blend with coffee liqueur, vanilla ice cream and poured on top of a caramel sauce. Served warm or chilled in glasses with sugar encrusted rims for a creamy and sweet festive drink.
Snow Globe Gin & Tonic
I hopped on the Snow Globe TikTok trend 2 years ago but have no regrets. This Snow Globe Gin and Tonic is so fantastically festive. Gin and tonic with frozen rosemary sprig that creates a snow globe effect when you add the tonic. It’s worth the hype, I promise.
Sgroppino
Want some Venetian and glamour on Christmas Day? A Sgroppino is the way to go. A Venetian cocktail with tangy homemade (or store bought) lemon sorbet, vodka, and prosecco. It is refreshingly light and perfect for any festive celebrations.
Negroni Sbagliato
Another delicious Italian cocktail and this recipe for Negroni Sbagliato is from Nigella Lawson’s book At My Table. Sgaliatio is Italian for the word “mistaken” and this is more of a Negroni spritz, with prosecco replacing the gin. Made pitcher style with Campari, red vermouth and a bubbly of your choice, it’s a delicious mistake if there ever was one!
Holiday Mimosa
A mimosa on any day feels like a mini holiday and this Frozen Holiday Mimosa is a stunning festive version. Frozen ice cubes made with orange juice and garnished with orange slices and red currants. Place in a cocktail glass, top it up with champagne or sparkling wine and a sprig of fresh rosemary. The holidays have arrived in style!
Espresso Martini
Dark, moody, classic and oh so elegant, what is the festive season without an Espresso Martini. For this classic cocktail you shake vodka, coffee liqueur and fresh espresso to a froth and once poured it will form a silky smooth crema on top. Garnish with a few coffee beans and you have the most elegant festive cocktail.
Christmas Cookie Cocktail
This Christmas Cookie Cocktail is creamy, milky, sweet and so pretty. A sweet tooth’s dream, this boozy, milky mix of evaporated and condensed milk is served in a glass decorated with hundreds and thousands. What’s not to love about dessert in a glass!
