Vegan No Bake Granola Bars

These Vegan No Bake Granola Bars have become my afternoon pick me up snack of choice. I think they are just great as a snack for work or a healthier school lunchbox treat. It contains no refined sugars and is packed with seeds for crunch and texture. I toasted the oats for added flavour and I think the addition of the cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa is essential. The original recipe from The Mimimalist Baker called for the addition of either maple syrup or honey…

Berry Parfait l heinstirred.com

Peanut Butter Caramel Slice

This is the second recipe I developed with the wonderful products that was so kindly given to me by the Clemengold team and I just love these Earl Grey Ice Cream Sandwiches. The first recipe I made were the Sweet and Sour Tequila Ribs and I am really chuffed with the feedback…

Saturday the 2nd saw Cookie Swap 4. An initiative started by Ishay Govender-Ypma, it was also the second year that concurrent swaps were held in Johannesburg and Durban. It is a fun afternoon of loads of cookies and catching up with fellow bloggers and bakers. The most important part of the event though is the fund raising. This year the beneficiaries were Learn to Earn’s Bake for Profit course. The course, aimed at unemployed women, is designed so that both baking and…

It is time for Cookie Swap 4 on the 2nd of August! The 4th one held to date and the 2nd national one. The event involves a whole lot of  home made cookies but there is also a fundraising element to the day. Bakers and participants are given an opportunity to mingle and relax (and naturally share cookies and recipes) and the event is used to raise awareness about an organisation doing good work, and some cash for them…
